I think the focal point has been incorrectly calculated for that magnification. Overall, this appears to be a good starter microscope but 'starter' should not be a reason to make the instrument 'cheap'. What quicker way to turn off a young mind if the instrument does not function correctly. The proof will be 'in the Pudding' when I present this to my grandson at Christmas. Thank you, Horst Herrmann
