With an authentic catapult and trebuchet. Kids can build their own medieval siege engines with re-drilled planks, a little glue and the help of easy, step-by-step “blueprint” instructions. Then let the fun and experimentation begin! The contraptions catapult allows you to test launch distance by adjusting the arm recoil or the height of the flight deck. What travels farther, a marshmallow or a piece of macaroni? The contraptions trebuchet can vary its hurl by altering the counterweight; experiment to knock down a field of target planks using the two included balls. Author: Nate"s MomRating: 4 out of 5 starsMy son is 9 and loved the idea of building these devices. He started with the trebuchet. There are multiple steps that require glue to dry before you can do the next one. His patience was tested. Once it was finally done, he enjoyed launching the balls. The targets are useless, but otherwise it's fun. To date, he hasn't started the catapult because he's focused on how much time it take to wait.
