I was disappointed, as were my grandkids. The tying did not work as expected from the directions. When the balloons were tied with strings, if they didn't leak, didn't break well when thrown. We had more success when tying balloons themselves in a knot. However, children and some of the adults couldn't do that. Quite a few balloons had small holes in them, which causes leakage when filling.

The pumponator works great with both air and water. The kids (ages 8 & 12)were busy for a long time getting ready for an exciting water balloon fight. I'd recommend this toy.
