This had the potential to be an absolutely fabulous game, but the construction was a real disappointment. I had assumed that the game boards would be made with the tongue and groove construction of the old slide puzzles. Since the small cubes are all completely enclosed, that would have meant that the game would have no small, loose pieces to lose. That would have made the game nearly perfect in our home. Wrong! The colored squares on the game boards are just placed in there with nothing to hold them. If you turn the game board upside down, they all fall out. And obviously, losing even one square would render the game implayable. That was a huge disappointment. However, the pieces move very smoothly and the game is quite enjoyable to play. Too bad they couldn't have designed it just a bit better.

My students in K-4 love this game and particularly enjoy challenging their teacher. However, I agree with the reviewer who wishes the pieces were tongue-in-groove.

This is a great game for all ages. I bought the game for my grandchildren, but the adults ended up playing each other. My 6 yr. old grandson would sit and play the game by himself to solve the puzzle. He refused help and was entertained for a few hours straight. This game is excellent to build critical thinking skills.

This is a really fun game. I got it for my 6 year old son and he likes to play it. So does my 10 year old girl. My husbandwho said he hated slider puzzlesalso likes to play! It is fun to challenge another person with the time limit. Would recommend.

I was going through the MW catalog with my 7-year old, first-grader son, picking something to spend his Christmas money from Grandma on, and he saw Square Up and excitedly exclaimed, 'Oh Mom, you GOTTA get this. I had this last year in my Kindergarten class and I really loved it. It made me really think hard.' Needless to say, that was enough for me - anything that makes my son think AND he loves playing with it, we'll get.

This is a fun game with younger children. It is a little too easy though. We are working to come up with ideas to make it more challenging. I like it. My son likes it, but I have to give myself a handicap to play with him or the game is over in a minute flat. He gets bored easily with it. I would say 6-10 for age range.

My gifted students loved this game! The competitive but quick format made it a fantastic filler when they had just a few minutes and wanted to challenge someone. The tiles move easily and quickly adding to the 'wow' factor as others watch the game played. My only request would be that mindware include a few extra tiles is case one is lost. The tiles easily fall out and in a room of busy and active students, it only took about a month before the first tile was lost for good. If this design issue could be addressed, I would buy more and send them out as gifts too!

This game has such great potential for all ages. I volunteer at a daycare, you would be surprised of all the ages of kids that play this game. This teaches them to keep their wits about them, realizing how fast they can really move. Even kindergarteners are playing this game. This game is phenominal, even the daycare staff will square off with the children. Seeing them play this game, just makes me smie and happy seeing all these wonderful children play this game. I find all your mindware games are great for these children. They find how far they can go with themselves, their mind and their imagination.
Thank you for all the puzzles. Mindware puzzles are great for all ages and anyone. Keep up the good work !

FANTASTIC GAME!!! We have had so much fun with this game. The kids are constantly challenging the parents and I even caught them practicing on their own to increase their speed. Even the slower ones were proud to work it out and finish a puzzle.

I purchased this for a 9 year old with a gameboy addiction. I really love this game because 2 people can play at the same time and challenge each other. I love strategy games and the trick has been keeping the 9 year from getting upset because I can do the puzzles faster. I told him he needed to practice more and challenge me to a rematch! I look forward to seeing him gain more confidence. Great Game!!

I was under the impression that the pieces slid only similar to the sliding puzzles where you put the slides in order. The tiles could be removed in these puzzles and therefore could be taken out and arranged instead of sliding them around for the solution. It wasn't what I expected and thus is too young for the kids I gave it to.

My daughter (almost 6) loves playing this, but gets a bit frustrated as it is not super easy for her. It is very addictive for the mom! We can't play it all the time, but when we do, we have a lot of fun (and I end up having to help my daughter quite a bit).

The first time we played this game one of the colored squares came off of the cube inside the plastic cube. This left ablack blank and the colored sticker attached to another cube. We did play with one of the 'shaker cubes' and had fun.

I LOVED slide puzzles as a child and wasted no time adding Square Up! to my cache of toys and treasures. My 9 year old grandson was THRILLED when he spied it on my play table during his Christmas visit. He knew it from an after-school center where it is so popular it is ALWAYS in play.
